Running for my wife

I was over the moon when, on finishing the race for life, Mrs T announced “I’ve got the bug and I want to run a half marathon”. It seems a bit strange to me then, that we have only recently started running together.
We had our first road run together last weekend and I loved running with the love of my life and spent the whole of this week begging Libby to join me for a cross country run as I was sure she’d enjoy the challenging terrain, inspiring views, and the sense of wellbeing delivered by the route I had in mind.
She finally agreed and apprehensively set out with me this morning. After todays run, I knew I had found a new training partner in the woman I’ve already been sharing the rest of my life with for over six years. Our pace is evenly matched (except when Libby needs to tip toe around a puddle), and we both enjoyed getting to indulge in each others company away from distractions and interruptions. If our fitness continues to develop at the same pace, we will run the Bath Half Marathon together.
Libby is running her first half marathon for children’s charity Barnardos (the charity that dragged me back in to running after a ten year break), please sponsor her at www.justgiving.com/runlizzersrun
